Sidney W. Garner, age 86, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at BridgePointe Health Campus in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on May 03, 1937 in Marshall, Missouri, the son of Johnny and Elizabeth (Fielden) Garner. Sid was a district manager with Combined Insurance for 30 plus years. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the Elks, as well as a past member of the Lawrence County Country Club. He was an avid golfer, as well as a car and history enthusiast. His family will remember him being a quick witted, loving father. Preceding him in death were his parents and two sons, Robert W. Garner and Kevin Dean Garner. Survivors include two sons, Darin Garner of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Kris Garner and wife, Julianne of Sarasota, Florida; one sister, Betty Elwell of Marshall, Missouri; five grandchildren, Ashley Kersting, Aubree Garner, Madison Garner, Morgan Gardner, and Eva Garner; five great-grandchildren; and companion, Janet Ivers. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM CDT at the Emmons-Macey ; Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
