Terry Dee Havill, age 75, of Sumner, Illinois, went home to be with his Lord on October 24, 2023. He was born to Lovell ‘Dee’ and Mary E. (Lake) Havill on June 08, 1948. He married Cindy Jones on June 16, 1968, and she survives. Terry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a family man to the core, and loved nothing more than spending time with his wife of 55 years. Terry was a farmer for over thirty years, and then worked as a bus driver and custodian for the Red Hill Community School District. He never missed a Red Hill Salukis basketball game; he drove the team bus for his son, Coach Bryan Havill. Terry was an active member of his church, Island Free Methodist Church. He was a fountain of knowledge and taught his sons and grandchildren so many valuable lessons about being a godly man. Terry regularly shared instruction in car mechanics, farming, and gardening; he was always willing to help with any project. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his devoted wife, Cindy; three children, Brandt Havill of Bridgeport, Illinois, Brady (Robin) Havill of Princeton, Indiana, and Bryan (Charity) Havill of Sumner, Illinois; one sister, Luzell Carter of Petersburg, Indiana; four grandchildren that he was very proud of, Kinzer (Charity) Havill, Kyler (Elisabeth) Havill, Parker Havill, and Presley Havill; as well as two great-grandchildren, Ellyson and Selah. Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 10:00 AM CDT at the Pleasant Hill (Petty) Cemetery, with Pastor Roy Abbott and Pastor Kinzer Havill officiating.
