With heavy hearts, we unexpectedly said goodbye to Trixie Lee Neikirk, age 71 of Lancaster, on December 20, 2024. She was born October 27, 1953 to Chuck Hunt and wife Mildred (Cunningham) Hunt.

On November 29, 1970, Trixie married the love of her life, Jerry Lee Neikirk. For 54 years, they were a living example of a truly devoted marriage.

Trixie was the epitome of unwavering faith and strength as she battled cancer for years with a smile still on her face. She was a beloved wife, mother, and “NANA”. Her family was everything to her and her greatest joy. She was always the first to give to anyone in need, guide you through the hard times, and the one to love fiercely. Trixie had a heart of gold.

She will be remembered for her love of Pepsi and frogs; but most importantly, for being the glue that held her family together. She packed so much life and love into her seventy-one years of life, it’ll continue to live on through those who loved her.

There is no easy way to say goodbye. It may not have been our plan, but Trixie believed in God’s plan…and so will we.

Trixie leaves behind: her husband of 54 years- Jerry Neikirk; her four children; Jamie Neikirk and wife Lynn, Christina Neikirk and husband Jerry Walker, Heidi Sechrest and husband Caleb, and Josh Neikirk and wife Amy Neikirk; one sister- Dee Smith and husband Russ; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents- Chuck and Mildred Hunt; one sister- Linda Mewes; her in-laws- George and Avonna Neikirk; and brother-in-law- Dave Neikirk.

As directed by Trixie, there are no formal services planned. Cunningham Funeral Home of Bridgeport is assisting her family during their time of loss.
