The Parkview 8th grade Basketball Braves are in the semi-finals of the Class 8 3-A Region 12 tournament being held at Teutopolis. The fourth seeded Braves knocked off fifth seeded Robinson Nuttall in first round play Saturday 54-36. They were led by Peyton Jones with 21 points, Liam Morey with 16 and Matthew Ramirez with 12. Parkview will face top seed and host Teutopolis in the first semi-final Tuesday at 6 p.m. The other semi-final has Newton (Jasper County) taking on Shelbyville at 7:15 p.m. Newton beat Marshall 52-20 and Shelbyville rolled over Toledo Cumberland 29-18 in other first round play Saturday. The winners will play for the championship Thursday, February 1st at 6 p.m.
