A combination of illness running through the team and a fired up Warrior team on Senior night were factors that led to Casey-Westfield handing the Lawrenceville basketball Indians their worst loss of the year 68-35 at Casey Friday night.
The hosts got off to a hot offensive start and took command 23-10 after one quarter and never looked back.
The Warriors led 37-21 at the half and 51-33 after three quarters enroute to the victory.
The Indians lost for the first time in the 2025 calender year and had a 12 game winning streak snapped in the process.
The loss also dropped them to 5-2 in the Little Illini Conference behind the 5-1 Warriors and 4-1 Marshall.
No Indian players scored in double figures as the season record dropped to 21-7.
Casey-Westfield won the JV 63-42 with Blayton Gossett scoring 13 and Aiden Winningham 12 for the Indians.
The Tribe will look to get back on the winning track Tuesday with a non-conference contest at Carmi-White County.
