While on routine patrol, a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy stopped a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign on Saturday at about 10:30 p.m.
While talking with the driver, the officer determined that he had never held a valid driver's license. Delvin Dariel Avilez-Silas, age 24, of Bitter Root Drive in Plymouth was taken into custody and booked into the Marshall County Jail for operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a driver’s license. He was held on a $100 cash bond for less than an hour before being released on bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings, entitled to be represented by counsel, and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
