The Marshall County Commissioners held a special meeting on Thursday afternoon. The only agenda item was to open bids for a third round of the Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Project. This is part of the designation presented to the Marshall County Crossroads Regional Stellar Communities in 2018. The project was funded by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority for $500,000 with no local match required.
Grant writer Shannon McLeod from Priority Project Resources was unable to attend the bid opening and had local architect Brent Martin attend in her place.
Bids were opened on houses 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16. The plan is to spend up to $25,000 per home based on specific needs. The owner-occupants are elderly, veterans, those with disabilities, single parents with children, and families with young children. Bids ranged from $12,563 up to $35,578 when the alternates were added in. The bids will be reviewed, and the County Commissioners will have the award during their meeting today.
