Bourbon man arrested following stop of improper lighting

Improper lighting at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday sent a Bourbon man to the Marshall County Jail.

Deputy Ash with the Marshall County Sheriff's Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for improper lighting on State Road 331 just south of U.S. 30.

During the investigation, it was learned that the driver had a license status of suspended prior and had an active warrant out of Fulton County.

The driver, Michael T. Blanton, 32 of Bourbon, was subsequently arrested for driving while suspended with a prior suspension within 10 Years. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $500 cash bond. 

 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
