Officer Bennett with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department stopped a vehicle last Thursday evening, August 29th, at about 11:15 on U.S. 31 near 9A Road, and determined the driver was suspended.

The vehicle driver, 34-year-old Maurice Rene Burks II of South Bend, was found to be driving while suspended with a prior conviction.

Burks was transported to the Marshall County Jail, booked for driving while suspended with a prior conviction, and held on a $500 cash bond.

A trooper assisted the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department with the Indiana State Police.
