The Plymouth Park Department is nearing completion of the six new pickleball courts being added to the Hunter Tennis Complex in Centennial Park.
During this month’s Park Board meeting, Superintendent Mike Hite told members the new fencing around the pickleball courts is complete. He said Brown & Brown General Contractors still need to finish the landscaping and set the posts in for the nets. Hite is anticipating the painting on the courts to be completed yet this week.
The park budgeted $225,000 for the construction. Funds for the pickleball courts include generous donations from the local pickleball players, the Blueberry Festival, and $10,000 from the Marshall County Community Foundation.
Brown & Brown General Contractors from Wakarusa had the lowest bid at $227,500.
