Chicago man traveling 70 mph in a 50 zone arrested for no license

A Plymouth Police Officer arrested a Chicago man for driving without a license after he was observed speeding on U.S. 30.

Saturday morning, May 4th at about 5:30 a city officer was patrolling on U.S. 30 and observed a vehicle doing 70 mph in a posted 50 mph speed zone.  The officer conducted a traffic stop at U.S. 30 and Plymouth Goshen Trail.

The driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Satyanarayana Mekarthi of Chicago, was found to have never been issued a valid driver's license.  Mr. Mekarthi was placed under arrest and booked into the Marshall County Jail for a charge of operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license. 

Mekarthi was booked into the jail at 6:22 a.m. Saturday and bonded out at 6:45 a.m. after posting the cash bond.
