This week the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety approved the annual contract with the Marshall County Humane Society for animal control within the city limits.

City Attorney Jeff Houin presented the annual agreement, which has remained unchanged for many years. The Humane Society assists local residents and the Plymouth Police Department with animals running at large, those involved in bite complaints, and even those dropped off roadside by their owners.

The annual funding provided to the Marshall County Humane Society by the City of Plymouth is $30,000.

The Plymouth Common Council also approved the annual Transportation Agreement with Older Adult Services.

The agreement has been unchanged for several years and allows the Council on Aging to offer a lower fee to ride on their buses and vans.  Local rides are $2.50 each way.

The annual amount the City of Plymouth provides to Older Adult Services is $10,000.
