This week, the Plymouth City Council conducted a public hearing for additional appropriations for the General Fund.
City Clerk-Treasurer Lynn Gorski told council members she needed to appropriate $50,000 into the Mayor’s Promotion of the City Fund. This first appropriation will fund the city’s support for Dustin’s Place. The second appropriation was for the Plymouth Redevelopment Authority for $309,175. She told members the money wasn’t included in the 2025 Budget, and it is necessary to pay the bonds for the renovations of City Hall. The final additional was also for the Redevelopment Authority for $1,000 for the Trustee Fees that weren’t included in this year’s budget.
Councilman Don Ecker asked why the Redevelopment Authority wasn't in the budget, and the clerk said, “After the audit, we found out that now we have to start budgeting for this stuff as well.”
Later in the meeting, council members approved the resolution of additional appropriations.
A second resolution was also unanimously approved to transfer $16,625 in the Police Department budget. The funds will be transferred from the equipment line item to contractual services to pay for FLOCK cameras discussed during the meeting on March 10th.
