Officer Fisher with the Plymouth Police Department arrested two individuals this weekend for driving suspended and unlicensed.
At about 8:30 Saturday evening, November 9th he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on North Michigan Street near Klinger Street. The vehicle was traveling 45 mph in a 35-mph zone. The driver pulled over in the Advance Auto Parking lot. The driver was identified as Savanna Hanson, 22, of Plymouth. During the investigation it was determined that Savanna driver’s license was suspended prior. She was taken into custody and transported to Marshall County Jail where she was booked in for driving while suspended prior.
On Sunday, November 10th, just before 1 a.m. Officer Fisher stopped a vehicle for speeding on U.S. 30 just east of Oak Drive. That driver was traveling at 84 mph in a 50-mph zone. It was determined that the driver, Satnam Singh of Fort Wayne, had never obtained a driver’s license. She was placed under arrest for operator never licensed and booked into Marshall County Jail.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
