The Marshall County Plan Commission conducted a special meeting to consider two agreements during the transition period, during which the county is without a Plan Director.
Former Director Ty Adley began his new full-time position with the City of Plymouth on December 1st, leaving Marshall County without a full-time Plan Director. In December, the County Board of Zoning Appeals has a special meeting on Tuesday, December 3rd, at Plymouth Wesleyan Church at 6 p.m. and their regular meeting on Tuesday, December 10th at 7 p.m. The Plan Commission’s regular meeting is on Thursday, December 19th, at 7 p.m.
During the special meeting, the County Plan Commission recommended the commissioners approve an agreement with Ty Adley, who will attend the three-night meetings in December as a contracted employee.
The County Commissioners approved the agreement during Monday's meeting. The contract between he county and Adley calls for the county to pay him $1,500 for the 3 December night meetings.
The County Plan Commission also recommended that the commissioners approve an intergovernmental agreement between Marshall County and the City of Plymouth for Adley’s services in December.
The County Commissioners questioned the amount of the agreement the county would pay the city for Adley’s services during regular working hours. The agreement, written by City Attorney Jeff Houin, calls for a flat fee of $875 per month.
The commissioners thought the agreement would be based on hourly pay and asked to have the county and city attorney review the agreement and report back to the commissioner at their December 16th meeting.
