The return from the license plate notification system on October 18th resulted in the arrest of a Plymouth woman.
At about 9:30 Friday evening, a Deputy with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received a license plate return notification for the registered owner of a Ford Escape with Indiana registration #194DIP. The Deputy observed the vehicle traveling westbound on U.S. 30 and Plymouth-Goshen Trail.
Deputy Johnson caught up with the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, 31-year-old Emily M. Cosper was found to be operating with a suspended license. Cosper was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in for driving while suspended with a prior as a class A misdemeanor. She was held on a $500 cash bond.
Lyon's was called to impound the vehicle.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
