County County, City Council and Board of Public Works & Safety meetings this evening

The Marshall County Council meets tonight at 5:30 in the second-floor meeting room of the County Building and at 6 P.M. the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety meets with the Common Council scheduled to meet at 6:30 tonight.

The County Council will consider a request for the county’s restricted opioid funds to continue supporting Marshall County HOPE.  The agenda also includes a discussion on the Bowen Building with the Marshall County Health Department, a request of Commissioner Stan Klotz to establish a new fund for the Public Safety Grant program along with recommendations from the County Highway subcommittee. 

The County Council will also consider additional appropriations and transfer requests, an amendment to the 2025 Salary Ordinance for the Sheriff’s Department, and the auditor’s request to establish a new fund for the Countywide Striping Initiative.

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety meeting at 6 p.m. will hear from USI Consultants for a “Road Diet” on East Jefferson Street near the Coffee Lodge and get an update on the Pointe Apartments.  Department heads will report and members will consider a resolution to amend the Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic Training Reimbursement agreement.  Heartland Arts Center will be on hand to request funding and Plymouth Foundry will address concerns on the Harrison Street Trail. 

The Plymouth Common Council meeting at 6:30 p.m. will consider proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance that came from the Comprehensive Plan Committee and the Plan Commission. 

The agenda also includes the second step in the tax abatement process for Tall Points Tool & Manufacturing and a resolution to transfer appropriations with city departments. 

The city meetings are held in the second-floor meeting room of City Hall.  Those attending should enter through the Garro Street door and move to the second floor.
