County police arrest Greenwood man for operating without a license, possession of marijuana

On Saturday at approximately 9:11 p.m., Marshall County deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on U.S. 31 in the area of U.S. 6.

The driver, 37-year-old Demetrius D Jones of Greenwood, Indiana, was found to have been operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license. He also had a warrant for his arrest out of Johnson County. During the investigation, a bag of suspected marijuana was recovered.

Greenwood was booked into the Marshall County Jail on a $250 cash bond for possession of marijuana as a B misdemeanor and operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license as a C misdemeanor. 

 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
