On Sunday, December 8th, at approximately 10:30 PM Deputy Bennett with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the area of U.S. 30 and Fir Road.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 31-year-old Gregory Cook III. He was found to be driving with a license status as a Habitual Traffic Violator and outside of his special driving conditions.
Gregory Cook III was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for violation of his driving conditions. He was held on a $100 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
