On the morning of Wednesday, August 1st, at approximately 1:40, Plymouth Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a license violation. During the traffic stop the driver, Walter R. Escobar, 40, of Ft. Wayne was found to had never been issued a driver’s license with a prior conviction and a status of suspended-prior. Escobar was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail pending two misdemeanor charges of operating without ever receiving a license-prior and suspended-prior.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
