The Head Start program has announced the opening of enrollment for the upcoming school year for residents of Marshall and Starke Counties.

This free preschool program provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to children and their families.

Head Start aims to foster stable family relationships, enhance children's physical and emotional well-being, and establish an environment to develop strong cognitive skills. They welcome all eligible families to apply and benefit from this transformative program designed to prepare young learners for future academic success.

Head Start offers a high-quality education. The curriculum is designed to meet the educational needs of preschool-aged children, fostering a love for learning and school readiness. They also provide health screenings, nutritious meals, and education on healthy habits to ensure every child is ready to learn and grow.

Head Start offers resources and opportunities for parental involvement to strengthen family bonds and support the overall development of the child.  Their facilities are equipped to provide a safe and welcoming space where children can explore, learn, and thrive.

Families must meet federal income guidelines.  Children must be aged 3 to 5 years old.  SNAP eligible, foster children, homeless children, and children from families receiving public assistance (TANF or SSI) are automatically eligible.
