Today, Governor Mike Braun released a video message thanking Hoosiers for the birthday wishes he has received and asking them to reach out with ideas they may have to make our state government better and more efficient.
His comments are below:
Thank you for all the birthday wishes today.
It’s been a great year so far, and we’re just getting started. In just three months in office, we’ve already made huge progress on the Freedom & Opportunity agenda. Several major bills are making their way through the General Assembly on top issues like lowering the cost of healthcare, fully funding universal school choice, cracking down on drug dealers and repeat violent offenders, and helping our Hoosier workforce build new skills to further their careers and earn more.
We’re also making progress on the big ticket item of property tax relief, and I’m confident my partners in the General Assembly and I will get to a solution that offers meaningful relief for Hoosier taxpayers.
Hoosiers in all 92 counties told me they've had to tighten their belts over the last few years, and they elected me to make their government do the same. We’re making government more efficient and more accountable.
To make my business stronger, I relied on customers instead of consultants to tell me what we could do better: customers knew what needed fixed because they lived it. I left my business to run for office because I knew government could be run better and more efficiently. I had to deal with government every day and knew from my own experience that it could be more efficient.
What I want for my birthday this year is to hear from you: Do you have an idea for how to make our government more efficient? Something we haven't thought of to save Hoosier taxpayers money? What’s working in your community that we can replicate across the state?
