
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) has forecast an Air Quality Action Day (AQAD) for Thursday.
Due to smoke from Canadian wildfires, expected fine particulate matter levels may reach the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range (Orange) in the following areas:
In North Central Indiana, including the towns and cities of Plymouth, Argos, Bremen, Bourbon, Culver, and LaPaz. Also, Elkhart, Goshen, Knox, Logansport, Peru, South Bend, Warsaw, Winamac, and all other cities within the area.
Areas in Northeast Indiana include the cities of Angola, Auburn, Decatur, Fort Wayne, Hartford, Huntington City, LaGrange, Marion, Portland, Wabash, and all other cities within the area.
In Northwest Indiana, the cities include: Crown Point, Gary, Hammond, Kentland, LaPorte, Michigan City, Portage, Rensselaer, Valparaiso, and all other cities within the area.
