Marshall County Deputy Jeff Haygood investigated a report of an unsafe driver on U.S. 31 near 12th Road early Sunday morning, August 3rd.
At approximately 4:45 in the morning, the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center put out a dispatch of an unsafe driver on U.S. 31, near 12th Road.
Deputy Haygood located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on U.S. 31, north of 9A Road.
The driver, 46-year-old Dimas Jose Torres-Reyalvarez, of Indianapolis, was found never to have had a license. Torres-Reyalvarez was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in on the charge of operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license. He was held on a $100 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
