Plymouth Police were dispatched to Applebee’s at 2225 North Oak Drive for a possibly impaired driver at about 9:30 Thursday evening, July 11th

Officer Lovely arrived on scene and observed a gray Discovery pulling out of the Applebee’s parking lot.  The vehicle sped straight through the stop sign and 5 lanes of traffic.  It then accelerated at a high rate of speed east down Pilgrim Lane until coming to a stop at Western Avenue.

During the investigation, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected.  The driver, 36-year-old Jared Knapp agreed to take field sobriety testing and all tests indicated impairment.

Knapp was transported to Saint Joseph Hospital where he was given a certified chemical test which indicated that his blood alcohol content was over twice the legal limit.

Jared Knapp was transported to Marshall County Jail and lodged for operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction as a level 6 felony, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person under 18 as a level 6 felony, and neglect of a dependent as a level 6 felony.
