Niles pair arrested for possession of meth

Two citizens from Niles, Michigan were arrested Thursday morning just after midnight by Officer Wozniak with the Marshall County Sheriff's Department. 

The officer initiated the traffic stop on a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo on U.S. 30 in the near Iris Road. During his investigation, a probable cause search of the vehicle was completed, and the officer located suspected marijuana and methamphetamine.

 

The driver of the vehicle, 48-year-old Ryan A. Lusher, and his passenger 42-year-old Janet P. Adams, were both taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine. They were both transported to the Marshall County Jail. Ryan Lusher was given a cash bond of $500 and Janet Adams was given a cash bond of $1,500.

 

Officer Wozniak was assisted at the scene by Lyon's Wrecker Service.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
