Governor Mike Braun and the Indiana Department of Transportation announced Thursday the award of more than $200 million in Community Crossings matching grants for local road and bridge projects in 245 Indiana cities, towns, and counties.

“Improving and maintaining roads and bridges at all levels is crucial for enhancing quality of life and public safety for Hoosiers,” said Gov. Braun. “Communities across the state need investment in their local infrastructure, and we are pleased to partner with them to make necessary improvements.”

Communities submitted applications for funding during a highly competitive call for projects in January. Community Crossings funding comes from the state’s local road and bridge matching grant fund. Since its inception in 2016, Community Crossings has provided more than $2 billion for local road improvement projects.

In Marshall County, The town of Bourbon was awarded $45,367, while Bremen was awarded $456,656.  The Town of Culver was awarded $1,011,810, and Marshall County was awarded the maximum of $1.5 million.
