Plymouth’s park superintendent Mike Hite commended Maintenance Supervisor Dave Cooper and the park staff for the Christmas display in River Park Square, Centennial Park, and at the corner of Michigan and Jefferson Streets during Monday’s Park Board meeting.

Hite noted that they are waiting on NIPSCO to bring the electricity from the pole to the meter so the decorations at the corner of Michigan and Jefferson Streets can be illuminated.

Mayor Robert Listenberger also attended the meeting and commented on the city’s official Christmas Tree, which was lit Saturday evening during the annual gathering. He commented on how many lights were on the tree and how big it had gotten.

Park Board members approved the 2025 Non-Reverting Budget. The total estimated budget for next year is $116,100. Hite explained the overall increase of $9,195, saying they are getting a new phone system, so he increased the phone budget by $6,000. Regular salaries increased by $3,095, and overtime pay increased by $100.
