Plymouth man arrested by city police after traffic stop for headlight out

Officers with the Plymouth Police Department stopped a vehicle with a headlight out at Skylane and Michigan Street on Monday, December 16th, at 9:15 p.m.

The driver was identified as James Morrison, 25, West Harrison Street in Plymouth. Officer Fisher determined during the stop that Morrison had never had a driver's license.

The Plymouth K9 Officer and his partner Castor arrived on the scene, did a free air sniff of the vehicle, and gave a positive alert on the vehicle. A search was conducted, and a THC vape pen was located under the passenger seat.

The passenger was identified as Rebecca Carr, 21, of Plymouth. Carr signed a promise to appear and was released.

Morrison was transported to Marshall County Jail and booked in for operator never licensed.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings, entitled to be represented by counsel, and entitled to a trial by jury, at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
