A 23-year-old Plymouth man was arrested on Friday morning for criminal conversion of a motor vehicle and driving while suspended.

At approximately 01:00 a.m. on March 28th, Plymouth Police Officer Lovely initiated a traffic stop on Jefferson Street near Oak Drive on a GMC Terrain.  The driver, Zachary Cronin, was found to be driving while suspended with a prior.

The officer spoke with the owner of the vehicle, who advised that they were unaware that Cronin had taken the vehicle and wanted to pursue theft charges.

Cronin was transported to the Marshall County Jail.   He was lodged for criminal conversion of a motor vehicle as a level 6 felony and driving while suspended with a prior as a class A misdemeanor.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
