Officer Vinson with the Plymouth Police Department was assisting the Indiana State Police on a traffic stop Wednesday evening, March 15th at about 7:45 on Michigan Road near the intersection with Plymouth Goshen Trail.

The officer observed a black 4-door passenger vehicle traveling southbound on Michigan Street weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

The officer immediately activated his lights and siren to initiate a traffic stop. After a brief pursuit, the vehicle was stopped in front of the North Gate Trailer Park.

During the investigation, the driver, 21-year-old Samuel Frias of State Road 17 was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail without incident.  He was booked for Resisting Law Enforcement and Reckless Driving and held until 11:30 when his cash bond was paid.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
