Officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated a two-vehicle crash Christmas Eve at about 5:20 that resulted in one person being transported to the Plymouth Hospital with minor injuries and one being arrested for OWI.

The Marshall County Central Dispatch Center received a call of a two-vehicle collision on Michigan Road, north of the roundabout at Veteran's Parkway. The caller advised there were complaints of injury.

It was learned that a northbound 2013 Chevy Equinox, driven by 22-year-old Keegan Silveus of Plymouth, failed to maintain his lane, which is when he collided with a southbound 2003 Ford Explorer, driven by 27-year-old Andrea Parker, also of Plymouth.

Parker was transported to the Hospital by EMS. While Officer Heygood was speaking to Silveus, he detected the odor of alcohol coming from Silveus. Silveus admitted to having consumed alcohol and failed standardized field sobriety testing.  He was transported to the Plymouth Hospital for a certified test and jail clearance. The certified test results indicated that Silveus had more than 3x the legal limit of alcohol in his blood and was transported to the Marshall County Jail. Silveus was booked into jail for operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .15 or more as an A misdemeanor.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Plymouth Fire Department and EMS, and Reichert Knepp Towing.
