Plymouth Police were dispatched to Pizza Hut for a vehicle theft that had just occurred on December 21st at 10:40 p.m. During the investigation, the victim told officers that the vehicle was left running in the parking lot when the theft occurred.

A few hours later, the Marshall County Dispatch Center received a 911 call from the vehicle’s owner at 12:45 a.m. saying they had located their vehicle, and it was still in the possession of the suspect.

Plymouth Police and Marshall County deputies responded to the area and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. A short pursuit occurred before the suspect surrendered himself to law enforcement.

The suspect was identified as Raudel Martinez-Huizar, 23, of Plymouth. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Marshall County Jail.  Martinez-Huizar was lodged for pending charges of vehicle theft as a level 6 felony, Resisting Law Enforcement as a level 6 felony, and driving while suspended with a prior as an A Misdemeanor and held on a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
