Monday evening the Plymouth Park Board approved an amendment to an intergovernmental agreement between the Plymouth Park Board and the Marshall County Drainage Board.
City Attorney Jeff Houin said the original agreement was approved in 2017 for the Greenway Trail. This amendment is for the extension of the trail from the north side of Centennial Park, across Plymouth/Goshen Trail, and along the road to the ditch where a new pedestrian bridge will transport walkers into Price’s Pond. The trail continues around the back side of the pond ending up on the park’s parking lot.
The agreement states that the Park Department will be responsible for trail maintenance and clean-up. It also says that any maintenance work on the ditch won’t be hindered by the trail.
Superintendent Mike Hite said, “This is something park employees already do on the existing trail so it’s not a problem.”
