Plymouth Police investigated a crash involving the Dairy Queen sign at the corner of North Oak Drive and Jefferson Street on Friday.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the Dairy Queen at 7:10 Friday evening for a single-vehicle accident. The caller told the dispatch center the vehicle hit a pole.
When Officer Fisher arrived, he was able to determine that the vehicle struck the Dairy Queen sign pulling into the parking lot off North Oak Drive.
The driver was identified as Lois Yanez, 67, of Elm Street in Plymouth.
During the investigation, it was determined that Yanez had been drinking and had never been issued a driver's license. She was taken to the Plymouth Hospital for a certified blood draw. The results showed her blood alcohol content at .220.
Loiz Yanez was transported to Marshall County Jail and booked in for OWI above.15, OWI Endangerment, and operator never licensed.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
