On Monday evening, March 4th at about 6:30 Plymouth Police and EMS were dispatched for the report of a male subject who had been stabbed in the chest on the city’s south side.
Arriving on the scene, Officer Chris Miller conducted a short investigation before taking 35-year-old Melissa Hite of 421 South Walnut Street into custody.
The police report states that Hite allegedly stabbed 48-year-old Eric Natalio Pedroza in the chest.
Melissa Hite was arrested and lodged in the Marshall County Jail for domestic battery with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct. Hite is being held on a $1,500 cash bond.
Officer Miller said the investigation into the case is ongoing.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
