Local law enforcement arrested two individuals for driving without a license over the weekend.

The driver, 26-year-old Gilmer Ottoniel Jolon Dominguez of Fort Wayne, was found to have never been issued a license. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail, given a court date of April 22, and on a $250 cash bond.

While on routine patrol, a Marshall County Police Deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding on Sunday, March 23rd, just before 10:30 p.m.

While talking to the driver, 24-year-old Melvin D Cubas of Spring, TX, he told the deputy he had never had a motor vehicle license. Cubas was taken into custody, transported to the Marshall County Jail for Operating without obtaining a license, and held on a $100 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings, entitled to be represented by counsel, and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
