Potawatomi Wildlife Park: Rooted in community, growing in nature: Kylee Hall’s story

As we close out another successful year, Potawatomi Wildlife Park is excited to reflect on its impact on our community with the launch of their end-of-year campaign, "Rooted in Community, Growing in Nature."

"Potawatomi Wildlife Park is a hidden gem in our own backyard!" shares Kylee Hall, a local homeschool parent and active participant in the park’s community programs.  Her story follows:

I was unaware that it existed until we visited with our hiking club about a year ago. It has become such a wonderful place to explore for not only my family but for our whole homeschool group and hiking club! 

Over the past year, Potawatomi Wildlife Park has become a valuable resource for local families, offering opportunities for exploration, community building, and hands-on experiences. Kylee's homeschool group has had the chance to volunteer at the park. Kylee said, “It’s a valuable experience for our young children to work together on a project, grow in community with each other, and play a small role in contributing to the larger community around us.”

"Our homeschool group has benefited greatly from our involvement with Potawatomi Wildlife Park," Kylee continued. "The chance to participate in activities like the Glow-in-the-Dark Scavenger Hunt and the Star Party has brought joy to both kids and parents alike. It’s an experience that has made memories for our entire group, and we’re already looking forward to future events!"

The park's unique offerings have truly helped families of all kinds come together. With family-friendly events, Potawatomi Wildlife Park has become a treasured location for both recreation and socializing. The upcoming Luminary Hike in December is another example of the park's ongoing commitment to creating memorable outdoor experiences for local families.

"As a part of this community, I am so grateful for everyone else who keeps the grounds looking beautiful and plans the family-friendly events. It has become a treasured place to explore, grow, and fellowship with others. We are looking forward to the Luminary Hike in December and to all of the adventures that await us next year," Kylee said.
