Potawatomi Wildlife Park is proud to announce the addition of two new board members, Holly Sellers and Thomas Devros. These two bring a wealth of experience in community engagement and forest management. Both have been dedicated volunteers at the park over the past year, significantly contributing to its mission.
Holly Sellers is a resident of Bourbon, married, and the mother of four children. She has a strong background in community-focused roles, having worked at First State Bank for 12 years, Triton Elementary for five years, Cardinal Center for one year, and currently at Bowen Center. Her nonprofit experience includes volunteering with the Bourbon Library, Marshall County Fair, and Kids Hope.
When asked about her motivation for joining the board, Holly shared, “I have a history with Potawatomi Wildlife Park. Many memories were made with my grandpa, and I want to be able to give back to a place that meant a lot to me growing up.” Over the past year, Holly has been integral to the Community Event Committee, helping plan, prepare, and secure sponsorships for various events.
Thomas Devros, a retired professional with over 34 years of experience in the lumber industry at Pike Lumber, is also joining the board. Married with three adult children and five great-grandchildren, Thomas brings extensive knowledge in forest management, a vital asset as the park continues its efforts to preserve natural habitats.
Over the last year, Thomas has served on the Tree Task Force, where he played a key role in planning invasive species management and working alongside park maintenance staff to clean up trails. Explaining his passion for the park, Tomas stated, “I want to help keep the woods healthy for the future.”
The board is thrilled to welcome these two dedicated individuals. Their expertise complements the diverse and forward-thinking team actively planning for the park's growth and impact. As Potawatomi Wildlife Park continues to expand its offerings and preserve its natural resources, board members like Holly and Thomas will play a critical role in its success.
