State Representatives Jack Jordan (R-Bremen) and Jake Teshka (R-North Liberty) say the Oct. 31 deadline to apply for an Indiana House Republican internship during the 2025 legislative session is fast approaching.

Jordan said this full-time spring semester internship is Monday through Friday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, which will start in January and conclude in April. House interns earn $900 biweekly and can gain academic credit through college or university.

"House interns are able to work with lawmakers and staff to build on their skills and apply them in a professional setting," Jordan said. "I encourage all eligible students from my district to apply so they don't miss out on this rewarding experience."

Teshka said that interested college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates of all majors should visit indianahouserepublicans.com/internship to complete the application before Oct. 31.

"As a former intern, I was able to see and experience how the legislative process works, which was incredibly rewarding," Teshka said. "Interns will walk away with a new perspective on state government and see how laws affect Hoosiers."

Indiana House internships include free parking, career and professional development assistance, and enrollment access to an Indiana government class. Interns can apply for a competitive $3,000 scholarship for undergraduate and graduate expenses.

The program offers students opportunities to work in various departments related to their studies, including legislative operations, policy, and communications.

Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
