State Senator Mike Bohacek (R-Michiana Shores) gathered with fellow legislators Tuesday at the Statehouse for Organization Day – the ceremonial start of the 124th Indiana General Assembly.
Organization Day includes the swearing-in of new and returning members of the General Assembly, including Bohacek, who take the formal oath of office to begin a new term. This day also marks the first annual roll call for all state lawmakers. It gives each Senate and House of Representatives caucus the opportunity to organize in preparation for the 2025 legislative session. By state law, the 2025 session will conclude on or before April 29.
During the first session of each General Assembly, lawmakers craft a comprehensive budget to fund government services for the next two fiscal years.
"I am pleased to continue representing Senate District 8 and look forward to returning to the Statehouse and resuming my work," Bohacek said. "I am planning to file legislation to implement additional protections for children accessing social media services, and I plan to work on other policies that affect both our local community and the state as a whole."
As the 2025 session gets underway, Bohacek encourages residents of Senate District 8 to contact him with any questions or comments. Bohacek can be reached by filling out a "Contact Me" form online at www.IndianaSenateRepublicans.com/Bohacek or by phone at 800-382-9467.
