U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) will travel across Indiana this week to highlight recent wins that will boost America’s national security and spark job creation. Stops on Young’s tour will include NSWC Crane, New Albany, Fishers, West Lafayette, South Bend, and Fort Wayne.
“In the last six months, we’ve secured major wins that will help drive Indiana’s economic future for years to come and position our state as a leader in areas important to our national security,” Senator Young said.
The tour will include AM General in South Bend, which recently won a major contract to build Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV).
Additionally, Senator Young will visit the 122ndFighter Wing in Fort Wayne. For years, Senator Young has sought to position the Fort Wayne base as a home for the future F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. In December, he helped add a provision in the annual national defense bill to retire the current A-10 jets and transition the 122nd to the F-16 fighter.
Finally, Senator Young will visit multiple high-tech research and manufacturing facilities to discuss how his CHIPS and Science Act will help bring investment to Indiana and reshore the fabrication of computer chips and other key technologies. His stops will include Mantech in Odon, Ind.; Samtec in New Albany; INCOG BioPharma in Fishers; and Purdue University and Stratolaunch in West Lafayette.
