Fort Wayne will once again play host to the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship on March 20 and March 22, 2025. It will be the fifth time Fort Wayne has hosted this event.
“It is a privilege to once again welcome the top four Division III basketball teams to our community in 2025, and we look forward to creating an exceptional student-athlete and fan experience here in Fort Wayne with our partners at the Memorial Coliseum and Manchester University,” said Jill Boggs, Visit Fort Wayne President, and CEO.
Hosting an NCAA event brings prestige to our community, helps build our profile as a sports tourism destination, and has had an average economic impact of $1.8 million. This last season in March 2024 marked an exciting, sell-out Championship game crowning local Trine University as the 2024 Division III Men’s Basketball Champions. Having the opportunity to play in their own backyard with so many fans able to attend made for an electric event at the Memorial Coliseum and a record year for economic impact of the event’s history in Fort Wayne since 2019.
At any division of NCAA athletics, there is a standard that hosts meet for the organization, student-athletes, and committee members. Fort Wayne and the local organizing committee – Visit Fort Wayne, Manchester University, and the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum – have proven the ability to do just that and are only reaffirmed through NCAA's continued partnership. Fort Wayne is set to host this championship through 2026 and was
recently awarded 5 additional events in 2027 & 2028 for Women’s Division I Golf and Men’s & Women’s Division II Basketball, due in large part to the success of these Division III events over the past 5 years.
Tickets for the 2025 Division III Men’s Basketball Championship will go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. and kick off with a special promotion – Adult All-Session tickets will be $25 and Senior/Child tickets will be $15.
