Three Democratic women filed for Marshall County Council at Large

Shiloh Carothers Milner, Chair of the Marshall County Democratic Party announced this weekend that three women, Megan Rogers, Bethany Wesley, and Anna Corbett have filed for Marshall County Council at Large. Milner stated “The Marshall County Democratic Party looks forward to supporting these women.  With recent concerns regarding the lack of civil discourse and the increased anti-liberty movement that has filtered down to local government, these qualified women will give Marshall County voters a voice and a choice in November.”

Megan Rogers is excited to be running for Marshall County Council at Large.  Megan grew up in South Bend but ten years ago made Plymouth her home.  She is a graduate of Bethel University with a double major in Sociology and Criminal Justice. For the past eighteen years she has worked for Community Mental Health agencies, the local Area Agency on Aging and is currently a contracted employee of the State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) covering eleven counties as the Northwest Region Volunteer Supervisor.  Her work involves meeting with clients to educate and assist with their Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security needs. Her work with the Area Agency on Aging assessing clients for Medicaid funding Waivers for in home health care has given her an understanding of complexity of federal, state and grant funding, and the flexibility to pivot with changing legislation and client needs.  Working for non-profits she knows the importance of fiscal responsibility and will bring that experience to the County Council. As the SHIP Northwest Region Volunteer Supervisor, she support 90 volunteers and understands the commitment of volunteers to the Marshall County Community. 

Megan currently sits on the Lifelong Learning Network, Honoring Choices through Center for Hospice, and Aging Connections boards. She is the co-director for the local Aging Connections education and networking group for those working with disabled and aged populations.  She is the Committee Chair for Leadership Marshall County. She has been the caregiver for her parents and grandparents over the past several years and is still the primary caregiver for her father. Megan spends her free time reading and playing board games with her husband, Ian Rogers, who is a lifelong resident of Plymouth. 

Bethany Wesley is the Founder and Principal Consultant at Freshest Consultants, a 100% US-based consulting service specializing in customer service. With a strong background in business and a passion for community engagement, Bethany is committed to bring innovative solutions and effective leadership to Marshall County. Her career is marked by a deep understanding of the needs of local businesses and residents. She has consistently demonstrated her ability to streamline operations and improve customer satisfaction for her clients, skills that she now aims to bring to the county council.

Bethany is active in her community and is dedicated to making Marshall County a better place to live and work. She is also committed to learning Spanish to better connect with the diverse population of Marshall County. Bethany holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University and is a proud graduate of Bremen High School. Born on Coronado Naval Base in San Diego, where her mother was enlisted, Bethany has a unique perspective of the value of service and dedication to community.  She has built her career on principles of integrity, transparency, and hard work.  

Bethany’s vision for Marshall County includes a focus on economic development, sustainable growth, and enhanced public services.  She believes in the power of community collaboration and is committed to ensuring that every voice is heard. Her experience in consulting has equipped her with skills necessary to analyze complex issues, develop strategic plans, and implement effective solutions.  Bethany resides in Bremen, with her husband Alejandro Ornelas Santos. She values family, community, and the opportunity to serve the residents of Marshall County.  As a Democratic candidate for Marshall County Council At Large, Bethany Wesley promises to bring a fresh perspective, dedicated leadership, and a commitment to positive change.  She looks forward to the opportunity to serve and make a meaningful impact on the future of Marshall County.

Anna Corbett is a longtime resident of Plymouth and Marshall County.  Anna has worked for Miller’s Health Systems for 21 years.  She is currently the Admissions and Marketing Director of Miller’s Assisted Living in Plymouth.  In her summer vacations during high school, she worked at Pilgrim Manor in Plymouth under the direction of Dean and Clarise Byers. Through her many years working with families and older adults in long term care, her work has touched many lives of people in Marshall County. Anna is the founder of the local Triad organization.  Triad is an organization of local law enforcement working together to improve the quality of life in local communities. 

Anna Corbett is a past volunteer with the Marshall County Blueberry Festival Pageant, she also volunteers at the Blueberry Festival Information booth, and the Blueberry Festival Labor Day Parade.  She has served on several boards and committees including Habitat for Humanity, Plymouth Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Marshall County, and Youth Leadership Marshall County. She currently serves on the Senior Expo Board. Anna is the Past President of Kiwanis and is the current Secretary.  She has served as Chair of the Kiwanis Scholarship committee and as Co-Chair of the Kids Triathlon.  Anna is also a member of the Plymouth Lion’s Club.

Anna is a Graduate of Plymouth High School, she has an Associate’s Degree from Ancilla College, and a Bachelor’s Degree at Indiana Wesleyan University. In high school she was active in the local Young Democrats.  She played volleyball in high school and is now a volleyball referee for 6th grade, middle school, and high school freshman.  She is a member of the First United Church of Christ in Plymouth.  She has a son Brent (married to Beth) and has four grandchildren. Anna Corbett knows that public service is about collaboration, compromise and building consensus.   She brings to this campaign for Marshall County Council at Large, her many years of commitment and relationships she has built with the people of Marshall County.
