The Indiana Manufacturers Association (IMA) held their 2024 Manufacturers Hall of Fame ceremony at the Biltwell Event Center in Indianapolis last month. This year’s Hall of Fame class was honored for their long-time commitment, investment, and ongoing growth which elevates Indiana’s manufacturing sector and economy. Included in the class was U.S. Granules Corporation from Plymouth, along with Balemaster - Crown Point, Carman Industries - Jeffersonville, Charleston Metal Products - Waterloo, General Motors - Bedford/Marion/Kokomo, and Hiller Industries - LaPorte.
This achievement reflects U.S. Granules’ commitment to their guiding principles established back in 1986: Ethics, Quality, Teamwork, Development, Technology, Services, and Profitability. As Board Chairman and Owner, John Oliver’s principles have guided USG and his employees to set world class standards, including developing a one-of-a-kind processing technology and becoming the measuring stick for quality to which all competitors follow.
Founded by John J. Oliver in 1986, and in continuous operation for nearly four decades, U.S. Granules Corporation (USG) is the world-leader in recycling laminated aluminum foil to produce secondary aluminum granules. Plymouth, is home to USG’s corporate office and a production facility, with a second production plant located in Henrietta, MO. These two facilities comprise the only North American manufacturing plants engaged in reclaiming laminated foils.
USG’s extensive experience in recycling and production technology has earned a solid reputation for innovation, expertise, and cost-effectiveness. Secondary aluminum foil granules have proven to be highly competitive as a direct replacement for traditionally accepted forms of primary aluminum in many market sectors. Applications for USG’s aluminum granules include the foundry and refractory industries, utilizing the exothermic properties of the aluminum. Additional applications include the master alloying industry, ferro alloys and thermite, steel conditioning, and the chemical industry.
