Zachary Hodge arrested over twice the legal limit

The Marshall County Central Dispatch Center received a call of a possibly impaired driver traveling west on 9A Road from U.S. 31 Monday afternoon at approximately 4:45. 

Officer Wozniak with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was able to observe the vehicle drive into the Marathon Gas Station at North Michigan and Jefferson Streets. The officer made contact with the driver, 24-year-old Zachary D. Hodge of Cindy Trail in Plymouth.

The officer suspected Hodge was under the influence of alcohol and field sobriety testing and a blood draw showed him to be over two times the legal limit.

Zachary Hodge was transported to the Marshall County Jail and processed for operating a vehicle while intoxicated - prior conviction and was given a cash bond of $1,500.

Marshall County Police were assisted by Plymouth Police and Lyon's towing.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
