
Andy Ray Baker, 77, of Bremen, and Sarasota, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5th. Andy was born on July 21st, 1947, to the late Donald and Betty (Lemler) Baker. He was raised in Plymouth, graduated from LaVille High School in 1966, and then attended Bethel University. In 1968, he married his true love, Judy Martin. Together they celebrated 58 years of marriage.
The couple opened Andy Bakers Furniture Shoppe in Bremen and while living in Bremen, he was an active member of Jaycees and Bass Masters. He also participated in Quail Unlimited, and Ducks Unlimited and attended Community Gospel Church in Bremen and Covenant Life Church in Sarasota.
After his business adventures, he became a charter captain on Lake Michigan. Andy was an avid lover of the outdoors, and his greatest gift was sharing it with his family. He was known for his way of welcoming and loving all those surrounding him. Andy was a kind-hearted, compassionate, and friendly soul who knew no stranger.
Andy is survived by his wife, Judy Rae Baker, daughter Michelle (Derek) Hoffer, and son Chad (Lisa) Baker. Grandchildren Lauren (Spencer) Graybill, Brooke (Austin) Nielsen, and Emily (Rielly) Troyer. Great-grandchildren, Oliver and Parker Graybill, and Edward, Kathleen, and Martin Nielsen.
Also survived by his siblings, Kris (Norma) Baker, Ben (Kim) Baker, and Molly (Mike) McDermott. Always celebrating life with his signature phrase, “What a treat!” At this time, no services have been scheduled. A celebration of his wonderful life will be held at a later date.
