Bernice Gantz, age 102 of Plymouth, IN passed away on December 21, 2021 in the Catherine Kasper Home.
Bernice was born to Harry and Loretta (Richard) Duwelius on July 27, 1919 in Plymouth, IN. She was a lifelong resident of Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth High School. She married Harold Gantz on October 22, 1942 and preceded her in death on October 17, 2006. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Harvest House, the Ultra Rosary Society and was an important part of the St. Michael Funeral Dinner Committee. She was a homemaker and enjoyed family, sewing, cooking, a good game of euchre, and music, especially the piano which she played.
She is survived by her sons: John Gantz of Mokena, IL; Ron Gantz of Plymouth, IN; Larry (Peggy) Gantz of Plymouth, IN; her 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; her daughter-in-law, Cindy; her sisters: Ann; and Loretta; her brothers: Raymond Lewis Duwelius; and Lloyd Edwin Duwelius.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church (612 N. Walnut St., Plymouth, IN 46563) or St. Michael Catholic School (612 N. Center St., Plymouth, IN 46563).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN) with a Rosary service at 10:30 a.m.
Face masks are suggested for the safety of the family and our staff.
Funeral will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Michael Catholic Church (612 N. Walnut St., Plymouth, IN) with Father Spenser St. Louis presiding.
