Carolyn A. Foor, 85, passed away on June 14, 2024 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth. She was born in North Liberty on February 3, 1940 to James and Flossie (McEndarfer) Ranstead.
In a beautiful union that spanned 65 years, Carolyn joined hands in marriage with Dale Foor on September 13, 1958, in Rochester. Together, they nurtured a flourishing family, crafting an abundance of cherished memories with their sons Larry and Jerry; including the grandchildren who brought endless joy into Carolyn’s life.
A nature enthusiast at heart, Carolyn found joy in the simple pleasures of life such as taking leisurely walks on sunny days and nurturing her vibrant flower garden. Her passion for gardening stemmed from her early days of working at the Rochester Greenhouse during high school and the early years of their marriage.
Exploration was a significant part of Carolyn and Dale’s adventures together. They embarked on memorable journeys across 47 states within the contiguous United States. From traveling in their motor home to camping at various state parks, they immersed themselves in the beauty of nature. The couple’s fondest memories were made out west while visiting relatives and marveling at the wonders of national parks like Yellowstone and the Badlands. In later years, they ventured out east, exploring places like Connecticut and New Jersey before finally visiting the iconic Statue of Liberty.
Carolyn’s legacy lives on through her unwavering love for her family and her zest for life’s simple pleasures. She will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Dale; son, Larry (Laurie) Foor; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Foor; grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua (Halie), Craig (Missy); along with great-grandchildren, Leah, Mya, Emma, Jayden, Dawson and Auroa. She is also survived by her siblings, Richard Ranstead, April Sanders, Marilyn Myers, and Jane Hough.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Flossie; son, Jerry Foor; and brother, Eugene Ranstead.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19,2024 from 5-7PM at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563.
Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth at a later date.
