Charles E. Nettrouer, 74, of Plymouth

Charles Edward Nettrouer, age 74, of Plymouth, IN passed away in his home on January 31, 2022.

Charles was born the son of Charles D. and Genevieve B. (Elkins) Nettrouer on July 29, 1947 in South Bend, IN. He graduated from Plymouth High School and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He married Patricia L. Hartman on January 4, 1969 in St. Michael Catholic Church of Plymouth, IN. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and was fond of being the Bingo Announcer. He served in the United States Army for 2 years during the Vietnam War.  He worked as a dairy farmer, a salesman at Vigortone, a truck driver at Redimix, and a maintenance custodian at St. Michael Catholic Church, Ancilla College, and Argos Community School. He enjoyed coaching ragball and softball, bowling, being outdoors, doing yardwork, having cookouts, playing cards and going to breakfast with his siblings as well as attending and supporting his grandchildren in their activities.

Charles will be dearly missed by his wife, Patricia; his daughters: Michelle L. Tanner of Goshen, IN; Chelsea R. (Steven) Eckert of Plymouth, IN; his sons: Charles L. (Julie) Nettrouer of Argos, IN; Nicholas G. Nettrouer of Greenup, KY; Brent E. (Molly) Nettrouer of Plymouth, IN; his sisters: Jeanette B. Phillips of Plymouth, IN; Shirley R. Klinedinst of Plymouth, IN; his brothers: LeRoy D. (Geraldine) Nettrouer of Lakeville, IN; Jerry B. (Dianne) Nettrouer of Plymouth, IN; his grandchildren: Sarah (Luis) Osorio; Andrew Tanner; Jeffery Nettrouer; Alexandria Haas; Evan Nettrouer; Coen Nettrouer; Maddison Nettrouer; Justin (Kaytlyn) Nettrouer; his great-grandchildren: Carson Nettrouer; Lincoln Nettrouer; his step-grandchildren: Alexandra Eckert; Brooke Eckert; Caitlin Eckert; Traci Fangman; Keith Longanecker; and his furry best friend, Gator.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Genevieve; and his brother, Kenneth Nettrouer.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. in Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563).

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Michael Catholic Church (611 N. Center St., Plymouth, IN 46563) with Father Fernando Jimenez presiding.

Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery (Plymouth, IN).
